Restoration of the Silas D. Childs Chapel
Chapel Needs Immediate Repairs
The Silas D. Childs Chapel needs extensive repairs due to
natural aging. Most critically, the stone facing of the Oneida
Street wall has several areas where the stone is falling from
the wall. The wall must be reset and with new mortar and a
new foundation.
Fund-Raising Goals

We therefore are asking for public
support to raise $150,000 to help in this project.
Why We Need Your Financial Help: Cemeteries are
limited by State Law to the funds they can use for cemetery
operations. Forest Hill has been awarded a preservation
grant from New York State that will only cover 75% of the
restoration expenses. We need your help in funding the rest
of these costs.
